I'm running faster now than 20 weeks ago and I can lift heavier weights. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;On another note, I've been thinking about volunteering for the Elizabeth Fry Society for women that are waiting for trial. I want to volunteer there to get an insight into what goes on at court and what the people waiting think about the justice system and the police. I haven't had any contact with anyone that has commited any crime, so I think that this might be good experience for me. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;I also want to go on a ride along, but these are very hard to come by. This is a game me and husband have started playing. He suddenly asks me where I am and I have to quickly answer which street and block # we're on and which direction (north, south, east or west). I went from 63kg down to 59kg and back up to 61kg. This inconsistent weight loss mirrors my inconsistent eating habits.&amp;nbsp;I'm usually very disciplined during the work week, but on my days off it all falls apart! Me and my husband go out walking and&amp;nbsp;we'll have an ice cream and eat at the restaurant or I'll cook something fattening, but delicious. I think I can break that habit&amp;nbsp;as soon as I complete a full week of eating well. I've been reading the "Eat Clean Diet" because I think we eat too much processed food on the weekends. It's not healthy at&amp;nbsp;all! The hot springs were alright - not really what I expected. The pools looked just like small swimming pools and they smelt of chlorine. There were millions of screaming kids! It wasn't the romantic getaway I was expecting! But at least we got away from home for a while:)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;I've been feeling a little lazy recently, but I will start running again from Thursday. I need to exercise harder because my work involves a lot of sitting. Most of the people that work with me are severly overweight. This job creates/exacerbates an unhealthy lifestyle. I am not enjoying it too much right now. It makes me feel good, but I have noticed some side effects: my face is breaking out (I've never experienced acne before), I'm not losing any weight, I'm getting bored of doing the same poses over &amp;amp; over again, my purse is a lot lighter, I don't feel fitter (I feel more flexible) and&amp;nbsp;my appetite has decreased.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;I'm actually a bit relieved that I only signed up for 5 weeks. I don't think I would like to do it for a year. I feel a bit vain, but I do not appreciate the acne&amp;nbsp;&amp;amp; lack of weight loss! I've been feeling really tired, but I still make it to class 6 days a week. At yoga I push myself to do better and stick it out for 90 mins before taking a shower and falling asleep on the couch! &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;I know that many people make the excuse that they're too tired to exercise. I think people make this excuse&amp;nbsp;because they don't enjoy the particular exercise they have chosen (usually the gym). But they're many different kinds of exercise to choose from, for example, tennis, badminton, hiking, canoeing, rugby etc. My advice is: don't go to the gym because you feel like you have to, find an exercise that you enjoy! This way you'll stick it out and feel energized!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;What sports do you enjoy the most? It's getting a little easier to handle the heat and I'm starting to get more flexible. I volunteered for speed watch training and an Italian festival. It was great fun! I had to carry some heavy tables and chairs - it wasn't too easy! This is just proof of how much more I need to be in shape!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;Yoga really revitalizes me. It is hard and intense to do, but it's a very different intensity to running. I can't handle running well, so I must start practicing again when I finish yoga in a month. The police obstacle course has to be completed in 2mins 15secs, but I should finish it in well under that time. On the first day, the exercises started with breathing - this was ok. I felt hot and sweaty, but it was manageable. Then the poses started and within 10 minutes I felt faint and dizzy. I had to lay down. After lying down for a minute I felt better. I got up and started doing the exercises again.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;The heat was intense. It felt like I had sunburn all over my body for 90mins! Halfway through I felt nauseous and my heart was beating so fast that it felt like I was going to have a heart attack!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;When I got home I had a terrible headache because I do not drink enough water.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;All these feelings I experienced are normal. I felt sick because I eat too much sugar and my heart was beating too fast because I can't control my breathing and I'm out of shape.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;Anyway, I went again the next day (I drank enough water this time). I felt &lt;b&gt;a lot&lt;/b&gt; better. It still felt like torture, but it wasn't as bad as the 1st time. When I got home I felt &lt;b&gt;excellent&lt;/b&gt;! I had so much energy and I felt alive! Also, I didn't feel like eating dinner or my usual chocolate! I had a fantastic deep sleep and woke up feeling good. The 3rd time was even better! My body feels exercised and stretched. My skin is smooth already and I dropped 1 kg! Also, my digestion is a lot better.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;The trainers really push you to do better. If you lie down, they will tell you to get up and do the pose and they push you to stretch further until your bones feel like they're going to break!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;They say that 90 mins of torture will lead to 90 years of a healthy life.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;I think I'm healthy. I haven't been to the doctor in 8 years! - and that was to get my medical done to come to Canada! Before that I can't remember when I visited the doctor! I walked for couple of days without doing anything strenuous. Walking does help - even though you don''t sweat!&amp;nbsp;I really enjoy walking - I usually walk/run with my dog everyday, as well as my daily exercises.I put my pedometer on to see how many steps I walk in a day.&amp;nbsp;When &amp;nbsp;I lived in Korea, I walked about 12,000 steps a day. Now, I walk 6,230! That's about half!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;Life in Canada is very different because I have to drive everywhere instead of taking transit. Also, I work in a sit down job, whereas before I was a very lively teacher and I didn't own a car. I read somewhere that you need to walk 10,000 steps to lose weight. I'm going to aim for that number everyday from now on. I'm going to park my car far away from my workplace &amp;amp; at the end of the supermarket car park and walk longer with my dog.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;What do you do to sneak in some exercise? Humans are not supposed to sit for 8 hours a day. It's uncomfortable and creates aches in your back, neck, legs and head. I really don't like sitting for that long, but I work for a really good bank and I made commitment to stay there for at least 18 months.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;I've decided to start Bikram Yoga 5/6 days a week to stretch and relax my mind and body. Bikram Yoga is 90 minutes of yoga in a room heated to 105 degrees F. The heat is meant to relax your muscles to make them more limber for the positions. Perhaps because of problems with family, job, weight, school.......the list could go on. Some people turn to their addictions to feel better. These might be alcohol, drugs, work, &lt;b&gt;junk food,&lt;/b&gt; exercise etc. These addictions are not healthy. They do not help us to deal with stress long term. We might forget about our worries whilst eating that hotdog with extra cheese and sauce or working excessively. But when it's finished, the stress engulfs us again.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;Police officers have a huge amount of stress from their day to day work. How do they deal with it? There are healthy ways to cope:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;u&gt;Meditate&lt;/u&gt;: Yes! Police officers can meditate too! Be open and talk about it. You can find other people with similar interests &amp;amp; join a club.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;u&gt;Plan&lt;/u&gt;: Get your life organized! Write a list of fun, silly things and serious things you want to do in the next 5 or 10 years. It will feel really good to tick things off! (And make the silly things a priority - don't overlook them!).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;u&gt;Love Yourself&lt;/u&gt;: We are all too hard on ourselves - "I'm a fatso" or "I'm an idiot" etc Would we say these things to our best friends? our spouses? our children?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;u&gt;Talk About It&lt;/u&gt;: If you are stressed, find someone to confide in. Do this as soon as you feel the emotion building up - it will help you avoid your addiction (if you have one).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;When I'm stressed,&amp;nbsp;I have a tendency to eat sugary foods, but I keep that under control by&amp;nbsp;talking to my husband and exercising.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;What do you do when you're stressed? On Monday, Wednesday and Friday I alternated running one 400m lap as fast as I could and a calisthenic. This is a lot less boring and kept my heart pumping!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"&gt;I take my dog running with me. Some wear old clothes, others brand new ones. Some are more comfortable others are not. I have been consistently doing 2.4km runs 6 days a week, but this week I am totally burned out. Running is &lt;u&gt;still&lt;/u&gt;&amp;nbsp;difficult for me. I feel like my lungs are burning &amp;amp; I can't breathe. I do &lt;u&gt;not&lt;/u&gt;&amp;nbsp;have the runner's "high" that people talk about. I do feel better after the run, but I have to force myself out the door everyday.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;My running is getting better, but not substantially better. My brother thinks I should push past the pain to run faster. Perhaps, I should be mentally pushing myself more. Last week, I started doing 3 sets of 12 calisthenics. This is too much. It takes me a long time to do 36 burpees (they're really hard!).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;I am absolutely motivated to get fit, so I think next week I'm going to do a different workout everyday. There is a timed beep. You must reach to the end of the 20m before the beep. If you fail to do this twice, &amp;nbsp;you are disqualified. The time between the beeps get progressively shorter until you reach level 6.5.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"&gt;Right now, I think I would be able to do the obstacle course in 4mins (maybe). I tried to drag my younger brother - he weighs 158lbs, but it was hard! It's a lot harder than it looks!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"&gt;I can't complete the shuttle run yet. We need to be able to protect ourselves. Women may not be able to beat men with strength, but there are smart moves that can be learned. Yesterday, I went to a self defence class to learn some techniques. I think every women should take a class. It doesn't have to be expensive. I went to a women's shelter and it cost me $5 for 2 &amp;amp; 1/2 hours.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;Violence against women is inexcusable, but there are some things we can do to protect ourselves:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;1. Take a self defence class.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;2. Don't walk alone at night, especially isolated areas with no street lights, for example, in forests, parks etc&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;3. Don't hitchhike.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;4. Don't assume that an area is safe.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;5. Be confident &amp;amp; alert.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;6. Don't go home with strangers, especially if you've been drinking.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;7. Lock your car &amp;amp; house doors and windows.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;8. Keep a rape alarm with you.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;9. Be aware of your surroundings, (ie) where you are, who's around you, etc&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;10.Use your feminine instincts. If something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. Walk away.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;11.Call the police straight away. Don't wait.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;12. Call out "fire!" instead of "rape" or "help" ~ I've heard people say this is what you should do, but would people REALLY not help if someone's being attacked??&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;13.Put up a fight! Don't let them take you to a second location.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;14.Don't meet up with strangers from the internet.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;15.Park in a well-lit and secure area.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;16.If there's a van parked alongside your car, get in from the passengers side. It's not just for rich, old men ~ it can be for everyone &amp;amp; anyone.&amp;nbsp;The weather's getting better, so it's &amp;nbsp;a great time to get started.Golf is seriously fun and makes a great workout.&lt;br /&gt;If you walk 36 holes a week, you could burn 2,500 calories! That's quite significant for a bit of fun! BUT, you must not take the cart! Or, at least take it part of the way and build up to walking the entire course.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you don't want to walk the course, you can practice at the driving range. Swinging the club really uses your shoulder, arm and back muscles. At practice last week, I kept trying to improve my swing so intently that I had hit 100 balls before I even knew it! It didn't feel like hard work (like working out at the gym) at all :) It's exercise without being "exercise".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;List of "exercises":&lt;br /&gt;1. Golf&lt;br /&gt;2. I used to act as a police officer and "arrest" my younger siblings! I was really excited about my chosen career path.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;However, in the early 1990s there was a huge ruckus about &lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Stephen_Lawrence"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;Stephen Lawrence&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;. He was a young black teenager, who was murdered in an allegedly racially motivated attack. The suspects were not convicted and the police were deemed "racists". I was a teenager at the time and very impressionable. My community condemned the police and I felt lost and confused. I had always believed in doing the right thing and I thought all people were inherently good. I was naive. My faith in the police force had been shaken.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;To make matters worse, around that time, a boy in my school walked up to me in the lunchroom and said: "Why do you want to be a copper anyway. You're a p@ki!" I was so upset. I (mistakenly) realized that I could never be a police officer.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;After a while I pushed the police force to the back of my mind. I carried on not really knowing what to do with my life. As an Indian girl I was expected to have an arranged marriage and raise a family BUT I did not want this. I really wanted to travel and see the world.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;At 16 my parents said "No!" I could not leave the house. I was disdained, but not discouraged. I held on to the belief that I would go and see what was out there. I bided my time.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;Finally, at 24 years old I was allowed to go backpacking through Central and South America. I had worked retail jobs for approximately 2 years to save enough money for 6 months of travel. I loved it. It opened my mind. I did not stay in luxury hotels or take the easy way. It was hard, dirty and real.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;After that I went all through Asia. India had a big impact on me. Most people are exceptionally poor. I volunteered a lot in the shanty towns and listened to the "untouchables" stories. Crime is extremely high in the slums. The police do nothing. It was then that I had an epiphany: I could be a police officer! It didn't matter to the public if the police officer is black, white or blue. All people, from all over the world just need help. I can make a difference. I can help my community regardless of my race. I could be a role model for all visible minorities. They can put their trust in the police again.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;All my passion had been ignited! From then on, I became driven towards becoming a police officer. I still have to wait at least a few years, but I'm preparing now. I can do it. Mistake. I ran, went hiking and did some major calisthenics with free weights. The next day my body was in so much pain that I couldn't walk! Not even on a flat surface! I hobbled around for the next 3 days!! I didn't run everyday, so my best run is worse than last week's attempt.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;I am getting better at running and losing weight, but I still need to run 2.4km in under 12mins! I'm not even close!&amp;nbsp;I don't go to the gym because I really enjoy the outdoors, but I think I'll need to start lifting weights soon. I want to be strong enough to protect the community, myself and my partner. Perhaps, I can even reach Madonna's level of fitness. We walked around the neighbourhood, checking cars and observing people. We needed to be hyper-vigilant so that if something did happen, we could give the police a good description of the events and people involved. Also, we had to know exactly where we were at all times.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;We wore bright, yellow jackets that look similar to the police jackets. So a lot of people stopped us to ask questions and give information. I'm strong in endurance because I regularly hike, but I can't run. I'm awful. I've never been able to run. At school I was always last. I'm not fast at all................ Well, I plan to change by running 2.4km everyday, a shuttle run and some calisthenics. Hmmmmm, I'm well over 15mins! I need some serious work!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;While I was running my legs felt like dead weights and my chest felt like it was on fire. I really wanted to give up, but I just focused on the run.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;My&amp;nbsp;wonderful husband comes running with me for support. He used to be a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force police, so he knows his stuff! He pushed me to do 10 girl push ups, 20 side lunges, 10 flights of stairs, 10 lunges and 10 jumps. I'm just a girl with a dream: to become a police officer in Canada!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Except.......&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1) I'm&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;     &lt;strong&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: orange;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;OUT OF SHAPE&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There's no way I can pass the PREP. I'm about 20 lbs overweight, I need to lose weight by correcting my sweet tooth!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2) I'm a&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;strong&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: orange;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;NEWCOMER&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I moved to Canada from England, so&amp;nbsp;I don't know anyone outside my immediate family. I have little history in this country ~ I don't have many references from here.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3) I don't speak a&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;strong&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: orange;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;SECOND LANGUAGE&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is terrible!
